Bringing Back the Arts Blog Topics
Once you are done writing your blog: If you have a challenge that you are struggling to work out at your internship, email or text the program director immediately so you can receive help as soon as possible.
Blog Question #1- What did you learn from your first week at your internship? Did anything surprise you or make you excited? Were there any challenges? Did you make any connections with co-workers? Did you engage in any code switching?
I learned how to set up the microphones when artist need to recording there songs. The most changing part was to make some chords out of the blue in the end i did make some.A co-worker helped me out with putting away the equipment and she was pretty nice and that i have a lot income with her.She also help me out with making some notes for the song that we had to help out.I was so exited to help out with the song that they need to help record i thought it would take longer to make the song or record but in reality it was pretty fast I just hope that i could the same thing some day.
I did not code swish at all every one seemed pretty cool and they were super nine there weren’t any problems.Jesus was the most nicest guy i could of ever met he is my supervise and my boss he is giving me lessons about the set up he is using for youth on record. At first it seemed pretty easy but the first two minutes of using the hole control bored i for got everything to do but then he helped me out and in the end i can already pick up a few ticks and tips with the program that I’m using.

Interview questions:
- Did you study art after high school? Art or traditional college? Internship or apprenticeship?
- How did you get your first job in the creative industries?
- If you were in an intern in this field, where would you focus your learning during your internship? What is the most important learning one can do when beginning a career in this profession?
- (Time allowing) Is there anything interesting about you that is non-work related that you would like to tell me about? Hobbies or interests?
Blog Question # 2: What co-workers did you interview? Did your co-workers study art after high school either through higher education or internships/apprenticeships? What recommendations did they have for what you should try to learn as an intern in this field? Did they have any advice on how to begin your creative career? Did you learn anything interesting about your co-workers that was non-work related?
The only person i could interview was Jesus Rodriguez which was one of the most coolest person i could of ever meet. And he has some what done the same things as i did like in middle school he side up for hip hop song writing audio production dance classes and more most of them were hobbies but then became to actual job opportunity I did the same thing in middle school i sigh up for a song writing/audio produce classes after a while he wasn’t going anywhere with his music until one day he actually got a job with his skills that he had.He told me to not give up on music and to always do the best you can do with my guitar and hes willing to help me every step of the way. What i also learned from him was that he is married and has a kid.I hope that he teaches me how to make songs and to give me life lessons when i really go out there and show the world my music. One of the many thing he told me to keep focusing on when i do music is to keep a calm mind and to have fun and be creative with my music.

Do you feel like you have a good work ethic so far? How do your co-workers actions affect your internship? Are you beginning to develop any work place friendships?
I feel like my actions are improving my work area because i have curtly help out a lot within the past 3 weeks.I always keep a positive a positive attitude when ever they ask for my help i say to them i will gladly help with a big smile and a bright sunny day by my side.My co-works also think i have a positive spirit and that i bring nothing but sun shine and that i can crack a few jokes here and there. I’ve made a new friend there who is also my age shes pretty cool to hang out. We have a lot in come in from bands to foods and that it she thinks i’m pretty funny and a cool person to hang out and i feel the same way youth on record has really made me reach out to different people that i didn’t even knew could help me make a band or to help out other band and other artist youth on record is such a amazing place maybe some day i will fully work there and see new faces everyday.Or maybe other interns can enjoy working at youth on record so that they can also experience this feeling of relaxation and making music to show the world that your more than a person.

Blog Question #4: Freestyle blog week. Write your own blog prompt about your internship, then answer it in 200-250 words
This past week has been amazing everyone is so nice he at YOR and im learning new stuff everyday when i come here.I also meet new people who really inspire me to do grate things in the future. So far my progress with my project is um not going so well im still trying to make some songs but its kind of hard doing it all alone but will try my best at making song on my own some times i do get help from my boss Jesus.I hope one day that i can be just like him if my idea of joining a band doesn’t work then ill just be a audio enganer helping out people with there music. But if that doesn’t work too then ill just go solo and book gigs. But the main goal for me is to preform in front of thousands of people but i got to stat small before going big i hope that day comes real soon. Sure i may get nervous but the pump of eximent and agrenalen will keep me calm of seeing thousands of people ready to witness awesomeness right before there eyes but for now im ok if i preform in front of a cubble of hundred people.

Blog Question #5 How do you feel like your internship is going so far? What are the highlights? What are the challenges? Do you feel like you are making connections with your co-workers? Are you using your internship inspired project as a creative connection between you and your supervisor? What can you do to improve your experience?
I feel like I’m doing really good with helping out with my co-workers helping them set up equipment and recording. The main challenges are making song i would think of some catchy beats the next gone.I would try and try again but nothing seems to be working and i would back away from the computer and just clear my thought before coming close to punch the screen. Al-tho Jesus has help me out from time to time telling me to just feel how the connects to me something like that.I feel like i really connected with my co-workers this past month they keep inspiring me to come in to work and to do my best.I could improve on asking for help when I’m stuck on my song some times i would try fingering out how to handling things one my own and some times i would succeed but most of the time i would fail miserably. But i would try and try again until i got it right it wouldn’t be easy but I’m a fast learner most of the time.

Blog Question #6 End of the quarter check- in. OK to do 150 words this week. Please do an inventory of your hours completed up until now and make sure your electronic time card is updated coming into the end of the quarter. How are you doing so far on completing your hours? Do you have the amount of hours complete that you should have at this point in the internship? If you are behind on your hours, what is your plan to make up the hours you are missing? How are you doing with the challenge of maintaining your intern work schedule? Are you using your google calendar to keep track of your intern schedule and homework assignments? Is there any other challenge you feel the Internship Program Director should be aware of at the end of the first half of your internship?
My time check hours are going very well I believe that I’m on track of completing my hours it is some what of a challenge of doing my hours because i only have to work once per week but some times i do work when i don’t have school i take that as my advantage.I just hope that i can met my goal of doing 100 hours of work. For my google calendar its been some what of useful but i still need to learn more about it because sometimes i would go to work and if i look at my phone nothing would pop up for the google candler i feel like there should be a notification when i have to go to work.I don’t think that there is any other challenges that i have been dealing with other than the google calendar. But hopefully i have completed everything for this first quarter.

Blog Question #7: What is your favorite part of working on personal art projects? What challenges do you face on personal art projects? What have you learned about working in a creative business? What is your favorite part of working in a creative business? What is the difference between working on personal art and working in a creative business?
I love how I get to create my own song and beats and to show the people that I have a talent that I want people to enjoy off of. I’ve always dreamed of singing my own songs in front of stage to thousands of people so that I can make there nights better and for the people to forget all the bad things that are happening in the world. The difficult part about making my own song and album is that the amount of time i have to put into it that’s why i want to join in a band or start up one so that way my music can be ten times better than before. I’ve learned that being part of a creative business is that you need to take some risks for you or the people that you work with and they would support the risks that you would take and opportunity that they give you.My favorite part about working for a creative business is that you can connect with people that you necessary dont know but thats what makes the experience better you can learn from other people and you can make a connection with them and that they can help you out and that they have the same goals as you.

No Blog Next Week- you will need to use the week to work on your Internship Inspired Project in preparation for blog 8. You cannot write blog 8 if you have not talked to your supervisor about your internship project. Make talking to your supervisor about the project #1 priority if that hasn’t happened.
Blog Question #8 :
How is your internship project going? Describe the progress of your project. How did the conversation about your project go with your sponsor? (If you haven’t discussed the project with your sponsor yet, how do you plan to do so?) Did they have good insights into how to improve or expand the project? How does your project bridge what you do at your internship and what you like to create for yourself? Has your relationship with your sponsor evolved as you have engaged in a creative dialogue about your project? Art there any challenges you are experiencing planning or doing your project?
My project has been going well but there were some set backs but i do have other projects that i could make up for.My supervisor has helped me every step of the way with my work I’m very happy working with him from time to time. There was some challenges with my project because i kind of wanted to make or join a band to make songs and so far some people have helped me with my songs but it was still different difficult but in the end i still mage to pull through. This hole experience has change my point of view of the world and how it works and that i need to work hard for it.
Blog Question #9 What have you seen or experienced in your internship that has inspired you the most on your own artistic journey? Has this experience changed your artistic ambitions? How? Have you used this experience to diversify your skill set? What skills have you added?
I have seen art come to life and i have experiences it first hand and im very happy that i did it makes me want to live my life to the fullest. Ive learned more that i have ever had than the last 4 year of my life to my path way to music. This has inspired me to do more to travail more and to work harder than before and i hope that i have help on the way to my joinery to success.I have learned to start to do solos and learning to read nots a little bit.
Blog Question #10 : Has this experience been a rewarding one for you? Why or Why not (keep it positive, if you had negative experiences, focus on what you learned- make yourself look good!)? How has the reality of your internship matched or contrasted with your expectations? What is the most important learning you did during your internship?
It has rewored me by talking to real professionals that are just starting with there music and that they give advice on how to start on my music career and that i should take some baby steeps before going big. Ive learned that i should start working on my school work first and then go full on bands and song writing.
