Angelo Quesada is an upcoming actor completing his senior year at Kunsmiller Creative Arts Academy. Angelo began at Kunsmiller as a visual artist and was recognized by his peers as one the best 2D artist in the school. His junior year he took an unexpected turn when he got his first role in a school musical playing Simba for the song “We Are One” from the Lion King. His grandfather passed away that year, creating motivation for him to push off of to pursue a future career in acting. As a senior, he is now playing the role of Snoopy in the Musical “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” as well as taking on other challenges as he does an internship at Curious Theater.

What did you learn from your first week at your internship? Did anything surprise you? Who did you meet and what do they do?
Throughout Angelo’s first week going to Curious Theatre, he has learned to keep organized for a better environment as well as being able to have good communication skills. He was surprised about how much people worked more around the network side and less on the stage, although this is only the beginning of his internship there is still more extraordinary courses to over come for he’ll be switching off with other co-workers that are trained in different fields. Angelo is finally now able to socialize with the others but has not yet met the full company, for hope of next week that he will be able to meet everyone.

What was the best thing that happened to you this week? How did it make you feel?
During Angelo’s second week in his internship he had found it amazing how friendly all the co-workers really are as well as just able to be himself, although what made his day even more better was that the co-workers inside of his workshop made him feel welcomed and appreciated as he is working on the network side and less on the stage. This created such a strong and healthy friendship with the co-works like Eve for example she is Angelo’s sponsor at Curious Theatre, but showing angelo around the company makes him feel a lot more comfortable instead of making him feel like he’s none welcome. But overall this made Angelo extremely excited for the other workshops to come by building a nice an friendly environment with the Curious Theatre for maybe a future career, who ever knows? Building a strong friendship could likely put Angelo where he wants to be after graduation, although this is a grate feeling for him to have a bigger challenge and more responsibilities to handle. This creates such a grate opportunity for Angelo to overcome any fear he has in the work society, by having such a grate mentor he feels this is going to be a wonderful experience is happy to say that curious theatre is one of the best working environments he has been so far.

How do your action effect your workplace? Do you contribute positively? How do your co-workers actions effect your internship?
Angelo’s actions effect his workplace positively as a result of all his co-workers really liking him and being able to be comfortable to speak about anything around him by not feeling like he’s going to judge. His positive attitude show the workers around him that he’s is fun and can be a joker when he wants but gets his work done when he needs too, although it may seem boring to him now, he knows that its what best for his future and its also fun for him too as a result that he’s able to be himself but still do work that he’s normally not used to although that’s what Angelo wants to do by take on new challenges and be able to experiment other things related to theatre. Also Angelo’s co-workers have to be the best people he’s been around at his workplace, this show him that their will be nothing to worry about when it comes to the real world and not forgetting that in quote this is what angelo had said “ I love my co-workers at my internship their so fun to be around and their never afraid to speak up and get their voice out their and each of them have a strong personality which makes them all unique in their own way, although I wish to never leave bestrong friendship and the actions they both make are alway because everyone is honestly the best and I feel like I’m home but they carry such good vibes I’m really going to miss all of them when I’m gone.” An this can hopefully get him one step closer to his personal ledgend where he can be able to express himself on stage.

What are you responsible for? What do you think is your main contribute to your worksite?
Angelo’s responsibility is to mainly look up people who give out grants that are related to theatre around the art community as well as other corporations that donate to the same companies as Curious Theatre, although he is not happy to be on stage he still takes on other bigger and more business responability to overcome in the work field. This was unimaginable in his eyes but his responsibilities have to be done, by that he was willing to take the work he was doing at his internship and do it outside of the work place to better understand how things really work. Angelo’s biggest contribute to his worksite is to sit in front of a computer for four hours and find grants that other foundation are giving away millions of dollars to maintain a balance between the events held at Curious and small events they have called boys night out and girls night out. Angelo’s other biggest contribute is to really do whatever his Sponsor asked him to do because their are not really much co-workers that are their throughout the day as a result of them having a more tighter schedule, therefore Angelo has to take action when the time is needed and when they need him most for the littlest things For example folding invitations, cutting out coupons as well as trying to find $10 they lost in the system this previous year by having him go through many files to find where it could have been misplaced but this won’t be a struggle for Angelo because this is his main responsibility so this wont be any challenge for him.

How you feel like your internship is going so far? Are you forming good relationships with your co-workers? What can you do to improve your experience?
Throughout Angelo’s Internship he feels that it’s going just great, the people in his worksite are phenomenal Sara, Eve, Mark, all of them are such good people and treat Angelo very professionally while on the worksite. By meeting more of his co-workers he is positive they will be the same and hopefully put Angelo somewhere to express more of his acting skills, although he is forming a strong friendly relationship where he is able to socialize with them without having to fear the fact of them being judged. Also he strongly believes that he need to utilize his time wisely in ways that would be more beneficial to him in the future, by speaking up and asking his sponsor Eve to see if she has other projects that are more physical then office work. But lets not forget that he is only mid way in his internship and still has much more interesting activities to overcome, and perhaps also Angelo can ask Eve to build flyers for their company when they have shows and events coming up in the near future. Though overall he is very enjoying himself and loving the work they have him, as a result of that Angelo is being able to go through the experience and professional activity that happens within his worksite. Growing a closer friendship and relationships with his co-workers could possibility get him a future job their or Eve referred to some other organization where he can pursue his career as an actor.

What do you think is your main contribution to your work site? Are you proud of your contributions?
Angelo Quesada believes that his main contribution to his work site is to be the worker where anybody is able to seek help for any last minute projects and search for any processing errors within the system, eventually leading to his success. One of Angelo’s many tasks at Curious Theatre is to take note of all income and other money related jobs. Angelo is also tasked with searching for grants that could possibly donate money to the theatre. But basically he does computer organization such as sort flyers and even cuts as well as folds all the flyers for the upcoming shows currently at the theatre company. Angelo feels very welcomed and trusted with all that his manager Eve has provided him with especially handling things like the company’s tax pays and monthly reviews. Angelo is happy to know that he can do all these things to make other peoples lives easier as he is always willing to help out. Angelo is very proud of his work thus far and is willing to do more challenging task when they present themselves. Angelo is looking forward to his actual career and feels that this internship is giving him the tools to do so. Although this gives Angelo one step closer to where he wants to be, but he wants this to look good on his resume for when he wants to continue his post secondary career starting off at Red Rock’s Community College. Angelo is strongly proud of his contribution to his work site as results show from his co- workers appreciating his hard work and dedication.

How do people at work treat you? How does it make you feel? If you have in intern one day will you treat them the same?
Throughout Angelo’s internship he has developed an active relationship with his co-workers, since the first day he entered into Curious Theatre the whole team was nothing but kind and respectful. Eve, Sara, and Rachelle are Angelo’s co-workers and are there to help him throughout his internship whenever he struggles to get through a certain task. Angelo is very thankful for their support and feels appreciated as well as welcomed to Curious Theatre Company. By growing a relationship with them over a small period of time Angelo feels the courage to keep working there for as much as he can before his senior year comes to an end. In Angelo’s words he say’s “ I always wished to see what it would be like in the theatre field where I am able to be myself and see what other people in the theatre field actually do everyday, But if I ever have an intern I would treat them the same way Eve, Sara, and Rachelle treat me. As a result, they have motivated me to carry out my personal legend and to do what I loved to do the most, now that’s the way I would treat my intern if I so happen to come across one.” This has influenced Angelo to pursue his dream to become a actor but working and dedicating his life to carry out his personal legend, wishing all of his co-workers the best and will also want say thanks for everything that they provided to help him move forward in life.

What is the difference between working on personal art projects and working in a creative business? What have you learned about working in a creative business?
The difference between doing personal art is more self-motivated, it relates to Angelo and is unique in its own way. To Angelo it is a way of expressing his emotions and desires. For example Angelo’s portfolio was entered in Denver Public Schools Citywide art show which included all personal work that was created from his past history and was is now more inspired by his surrounding’s. Although he feels that that personal projects have a much bigger and deeper connection to others that could relate to what the message is trying to be put across. As compared to working in a creative business every one is more teamwork oriented as well as having more personal tasks that require more strict deadlines in addition to more responsibility. Although working in the creative business it’s a job that has to be done without any question and stepping into the real world Angelo have developed the knowledge that tells him the real world is competitive and there are a million more people behind him that are willing to do whatever it is to become an actor like Angelo is doing now with his internship at Curious Theatre. Angelo also learned that the creative business is really mellow and calm because everyone is working as a team to archive the same mission Angelo said. But this is only the beginning to becoming a hard worker for the creative business. Therefore building his portfolio will help him create an awesome resume for his future career or post-secondary career, But by utilizing his time wisely he will be the biggest thing he has learned from the creative business and this would be one of the main responsibilities he has learned throughout this internship and probably will be the only one he would really remember going into the real world.

What have you seen or experienced in your internship that has inspired you most on your own artistic journey? Has this experience changed your ambitions? How?
In Angelo’s internship at Curious Theatre he did not come across anything that inspired him most to take on new artistic views as well as change his artistic journey. Throughout his internship he mainly works behind a computer which is not that inspiring to him in any shape or form for example searching for lost $10 inside the system, although he’s really happy that Curious has taught him everything he needs to know about researching Foundation and look through their 990 records to best match Curious Theatre’s company for funds. An also is thankful for showing him the skills on how to use google Drive, Docs, as well as Microsoft Word in a more faster and productive way to release less stress. This has not changed Angelo’s ambitions because this is something that is still related to theatre but has to be done by someone who loves to work with business development by researching companies and foundations to help support Curious. Why? As a result, Angelo was not satisfied by the work that has to be done at Curious because it’s not really relevant to what Angelo really wants to do with his future, even though this is one step closer to his personal legend by helping him get to where he wants to go for his future career, which he is super excited about taking into consideration that he was accepted to (RRCC) Red Rocks Community College and is now setting up class to take to be enrolled into Theatre for Acting.
