Weekly Blog Question #7 What is the difference between working on personal art projects and working in a creative business? What have you learned about working in a creative business?
When you make personal idea you get to come up with your own ideas. Usually I try to find peoples common traits, what they like and put that into the installation. For example, if a person likes nature then I might try to mix a forest into the piece. Personal art can be created almost anywhere: in the art room, at home, at a place with lots of people to look at, even at a park.
In a creative business people rely on you for the work you do. If you don’t show up for work you might get fired and you might leave them hanging. Working with other people you get more ideas and you get to view other people’s ideas on a subject. You find yourself saying “I never thought of that!”
I have learned brand new art techniques that I never new of before interning at CVA. One of the highlights was learning how to do the marbling painting technique using paints from Japan. Not only did I learn the marbling technique, I also learned how to lead strangers in a hands on art activity. I have led that activity at every first and third Friday since I began interning at CVA. Working in the Young Artists Studio with my sponsor Talya, I learned how help young artists grow their ideas and to be more organized. I also learned how to communicate better with coworkers. Another thing I learned was how to research teachers and add them to the database at CVA.

Blog 4:freestyle blog question. How was your week at your internship?
My week went my good I helped jasmin and Talya with the young artist studio and the after school program kids on their project with helping them get their materials and having fun and talking to each of them about their projects. I also take time and walk around the gallery and see the exhibition before it goes down soon in this upcoming weeks. I will be looking forward to look at the new exhibition and seeing what the new theme is and how it looks.
Blog3:How do your actions affect your workplace? Do you contribute positively? How do your co-workers actions affect your internship? Which co-workers are you connecting with?
My actions affect the workplace when your in a good mood your workplace will be affected my being a good workplace otherwise if your in a bad mood it will effect it in a negative way like making it dull and uninterested. I contribute positively since getting out of the hospital I’ve been more positive and joyful because I didn’t like being in a room by myself and now I’m more open and gaining the feel of being back. My co-workers affect the workplace because each of them have a role For example there would be 2 girls managing the front for who comes in to the center for visual arts then there’s 2-3 guys guarding the museum to make sure no one messes with the arts displayed on the walls. I am connected with the staff at the cva for example I am connected to Jasmine she teaches kids at the after school program tuesdays and helps out on 1&3 fridays. I am also connected to Genna she also helps out every 1&3 fridays with me and Tanya.
Blog2: What was the best thiñg that happened this week at your internship? How did it make make you feel? What else makes you excited about this internship?
1/17
The best thing that has happened this week for my internship at The Center for Visual Arts is Talya asked me to read books for the current exhibition were having I read a total of 6 children book and I had to Read them, Rate them on a 0-10 scale on how interesting they were, and a short summary about the book I read. This made me feel Energized because I was Helping Talya with the books so she could put them on display and have people read them as they go through the museum. The think that excites me about this internship is it’s making me learn new stuff for example Talya had me look and hear through TedTalks and understand the way to talk and speak in a professional environment

This day was a 3rd Friday so Talya had told me it might a ghost town here on Santa Fe cause people don’t usually come and visit on 3rd Friday it’s mainly popular on 1st Friday’s so she had me grab a homemade light table that reflects light off a surface and lets you see the sheet of paper better as if you were to to trace on a window. Talya had me set that light table next to a space where an professor at metropolitan state university did a continuous line on a light table and placed another sheet and did a similar pattern related to the continues line.
Blog1: What did you learn from your first week at your internship? Did anything suprize you? Who did you meet and what did they do? Did you engage in any code switching?

I was vary exited when I walked through the doors of the center for visual arts. I was greeted by a woman named Cecily, a director manager, who works at the CVA. I also meet the following:
Jenna- She manages the way the gallery looks and the measurements before they display the art.
Gina- She is a communication/marketing manager at the CVA
On my First day I was welcomed and immediately felt like part of the family. My sponsor Talyla took me into this room I which was the Young Artist Studio. I was introduced by a It looked like a big art room with so much materials I’ve never seen before. A total of 6 students from different schools around the area ,for example DCIS, came into the room and sat down and immediately started working on their finals ,for example a girl named Kate was doing a dip tic portraying a skeleton surrounded by flowers that would pop out of her canvas, I also helped a teacher named Jasmine who is a student at Metro State university.
I engaged into code switching before entering the CVA by not using foul language and having my peachy positive self in the workplace and keeping others positive.
